RUFOUS-THROATED PARTRIDGE

Post by wmw998 on Thu Dec 26, 2013 9:25 pm

Lucky to get this bird, but not happy with the images. This bird never stops scratching and pecking, while looking for food, so have to wait for the right moments to press the shutter !

There were 5 birds, not too afraid of people. First two images a little bluish as there was no sun, and damn cold.

Jeffery, I think in general, it is more productive and easier to shoot in Doi Lang than in Kao Yai. You have to know Koi yai really well to make the best of your birding trip, as it is such a vast area. Birding areas in Doi Lang and Doi Inthanopn are more concentrated, in fact, there is only one long long stretch of birding 'route' in Doi Lang, you will bump into people who are prepared to share info with you.I got my Mountain Bamboo Pertridge from bumping into friends who were then shooting the birds, early in the morning.

Thanks Bjorn.
