Philippine Nightjar (Caprimulgus manillensis)

After not shooting birds for almost half a year I'm glad to be back to shooting em.

The Philippine Nightjar (Caprimulgus manillensis) is a species of nightjar in the Caprimulgidae family. It is endemic to the Philippines.

Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical mangrove forests, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

I love this Philippine Nightjar....

You should set to low ISO and use MLU... but must with Tripod support

Thank you for your thoughts nelson. I also considered doing that but the nightjar kept on breathing. Sad

I have seen others shoot at 13 seconds at f/13 at ISO 50.

Below are some local youths helping me spot the Philippine Nightjar at the Faculty Center in front of Landbank.

The nightjar was sleeping on a mango tree. Thankfully the branch was unobstructed.
