Barred Eagle-owl

Post by mun on Thu Mar 14, 2013 11:45 am

My group was lucky to come across this owl resting on a huge Rain Tree just outside a palm oil estate.

First time I saw this fella was at KSNP early morning around 9:00 am. Took so much effort to go round to get it's front view without getting it's attention. But after almost an hour there we had trouble keeping it's eyes open. Even shouting, jumping, waving tripod at it, it just couldn't be bothered.

But at night, no idea. Would it be easy to approach at night with strong torchlight? One always comes around my place but never tried to photograph it at night.

Thank you.

I don't think so. Not on that tree anyway because I have been back there a few times.
